Scholar-in-Residence: Rabbinical Student, Eitan Bloostein

Eitan Bloostein is a fourth year rabbinical student at the Jewish Theological Seminary. He is a product of the Boston Jewish community, having attended a Solomon Schechter school and Gann Academy, a pluralistic Jewish high school. Before college, Eitan spent a year at Yeshivat Ma’aleh Gilboa where he studied Talmud, Tanakh, and other Jewish texts. Eitan graduated from Tufts University where he majored in Religion and served as an Israel Programming Fellow at Hillel.

Before starting rabbinical school, Eitan worked as the Director of Youth and Teen Engagement at Temple Aliyah in Needham, MA. More recently, Eitan served as the Student Rabbi at Congregation Eitz Chaim in Monroe, NY and taught remote adult education classes at Temple Aliyah.  Currently, he serves as the Rabbinic Intern at Sutton Place Synagogue in Manhattan, NY. As part of his rabbinical studies, Eitan is pursuing an MA in Talmud.

When not working or learning, you can find Eitan running in Riverside Park, playing tennis in Central Park, or cooking a delicious meal. Eitan is looking forward to returning to the Beth Tikvah community!
