Aufruf

When members of the community are married, they can be called to the bimah for an aliyah (an honour of reciting a blessing at the Torah) on a Shabbat preceding the wedding or on a Monday or Thursday evening. This tradition, called Aufruf, allows the community to also celebrate your upcoming marriage.
