Help Jewish Veterans at Sunnybrook with Minha
Help Jewish Veterans at Sunnybrook with Minha
There is an opportunity to hold a monthly minha service with the Jewish Veterans at Sunnybrook.
The ask is for someone to become a qualified volunteer at Sunnybrook, which involves answering a questionnaire, attending a 2 hour volunteer orientation session (over zoom), providing references and getting a medical certificate completed. The medical certificate also involves getting a TB test, that may require up to 4 visits to the doctor. Once qualified as a volunteer, the planned program would be for a 6 month trial, meeting for minha once a month on a Monday or a Thursday, so that we could read Torah, wear tefillin and accommodate the veterans' schedules.
Eric Epstein, who has volunteered with the veterans and organizes the seder for them, is available to help out with the davening or Torah reading, as necessary.
