COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The overriding objective of this course is to produce compelling images. Using your knowledge of design, composition, light and colour, or the absence of colour, you will produce images in the camera that you see with your eyes. You will answer the question 'why is my photograph not what I saw'?

I will leave you with a quote ascribed to Edgar Degas, 'Art is not (only) what you see but what you make others see'.

EACH WEEK:
The structure of each class will include a discussion of the above, the review and critique of your images from the previous week's assignment, general discussion and the assignment for the ensuing week.

FUN:
As the advertisements for a popular family destination in Grand Island used to proclaim, WOW!

YOUR CAMERA OF CHOICE:
Any camera will work for this course. Participants should be familiar with the operating capabilities of their camera whether it is a cell phone, point and shoot or a single lens reflex. A review of the manual would be the start followed by an easily accessible foray into the internet. YouTube for a video and Google for a discussion paper.

CLASS CAPACITY:
20 participants

CULMINATION:
A display of our best images at a synagogue event. We have celebrated our photography at Beth Tikvah in the past with a display, on two occasions thus far. We once prepared a booklet of our images. We can discuss this notion at a later date.

NO FEE:
We are suggesting a voluntarily donation to the synagogue of $90.
A donation receipt will be issued to you, in due course.

Registration is limited to the first 20 participants!

Sorry, Registration is now full.
