Eric Gertner is a retired lawyer who was the Director of Research for McCarthy Tetrault for almost 30 years. He is a co-founder of The Supreme Court Law Review, the editor of a number of legal texts and author of numerous legal articles.

Chancellor Rose and Ray Wolfe Professor of Holocaust Studies, Department of History and the Anne Tanenbaum Centre for Jewish Studies at the University of Toronto

"War and Genocide: A Concise History of the Holocaust"

Doris Bergen is the Chancellor Rose and Ray Wolfe Professor of Holocaust Studies in the Department of History and the Anne Tanenbaum Centre for Jewish Studies at the University of Toronto. She is the author, editor, or co-editor of five books, including War and Genocide: A Concise History of the Holocaust (3rd edition 2016; 4th edition in progress).

Her new book, Between God and Hitler: Military Chaplains in Nazi Germany, is coming out soon with Cambridge University Press. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Bergen was part of the team that designed the National Holocaust Monument in Ottawa. She served for many years on the Academic Committee of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC.

Lecture & Live Piano Sing-along: "The Musical Life of Barry Manilow"

Jordan Klapman is a professional music educator and performer. A versatile solo and ensemble pianist, accompanist, bandleader, music director, composer, arranger, vocal coach and recording producer, he has more than thirty years’ worth of experience performing many different genres of music, ranging from jazz standards of The American Popular Songbook and Broadway, to Latin, R&B, classic pop, and Jewish music of all kinds.

Jordan performs extensively at music festivals, jazz clubs, concert halls, and theatres throughout the Toronto area, across Canada, and internationally, and he’s performed as both a soloist and accompanist at Toronto’s Roy Thomson Hall for numerous performances of Seniors’ Jubilee, the largest talent showcase in North America. He’s also appeared at Koerner Hall and The Richard Bradshaw Theatre at the Canadian Opera Company, and nationally on CBC radio and television. Jordan also worked with the late Jeff Healey as a co-host of Healey’s My Kinda Jazz radio programme on JazzFM.

From the Inquisition to the Caribbean: Jews of Jamaica

Rivka Campbell, a Jew of Jamaican descent born and raised in Toronto, seeks to build community among Jews of Colour in Canada while opening dialogue among the mainstream Jewish community about the experience of Jews of Colour and Jewish Diversity. She is the co-founder of the group Jews of Colour – Canada.

Rivka is a recognized speaker on Jewish Diversity and has been interviewed by CJN and other publications numerous times. Rivka is filming a documentary on Jewish Diversity. She is the host of the Canadian Jewish News podcast called “Rivkush”. The only Jew of Colour hosted podcast with a focus on Jews of Colour discussing diversity, Judaism, and Israel. 

Rivka has lectured at Limmud conferences, synagogues, JCCs, community groups and Hebrew Schools. She is the Executive Director for Beth Tikvah Synagogue and an Executive Committee member of the North American Association of Synagogue Executives (NAASE). Rivka has her Fellow in Synagogue Administration (FSA) certification.
