Ysabella Hazan:
Ysabella Elisheva Hazan is known for her ability to challenge conventional narratives and is a thought leader in contemporary Jewish advocacy.
At 19 years old, Ysabella , entered her first year of law school at University of Ottawa. She now holds two law degrees, a Civil Law (L.L.L) and a Juris Doctor of Laws (J.D). Ysabella has worked at the Israeli consulate in public affairs and diplomacy. In addition to being awarded merit scholarship and being on the dean’s list, Ysabella is well versed in Middle East conflict resolution and diplomacy.
Ysabella, founded a global Jewish empowerment movement called Decolonized Judean, a youth grassroots movement. Through her work as a strategist, writer and advocate, she promotes decolonizing Jewish identity, shifting culture and intercommunity bridge-building. She has even been recognized as among Canada’s top 13 advocates and among the world’s top 50 Israeli activists.
Ysabella has channeled her passion for empowering her community by chairing and founding various student fellowships as well as giving lectures across north America. She has been awarded the 2019 distinguished leadership award and 2021 Leadership award for being a leader in the Montreal Jewish community.
Ysabella work as a Jewish rights activist to change minds, whether its via her platform, lectures, talks or tabling with students on campus.
Rivka Campbell:
A Jew of Jamaican descent born and raised in Toronto, Rivka seeks to build community among Jews of colour in Canada while opening dialogue with the mainstream Jewish community about the experiences of Jews of colour. She is the co-founder of the group Jews of Colour Canada and the sole Canadian recipient of the inaugural JewV’Nation Fellowship from the Union for Reform Judaism. Having lectured at Limmud, synagogues, JCCs, community groups and Hebrew schools, she is currently working on a documentary about Jewish diversity.
