Born in New York in 1965 as "Eliezar Gordon".
The family moved to Israel at 4 years old and then grew up in Tel Aviv. He played basketball for Maccabi Tel Aviv youth team.

Moved alone at the age of 16 to Houston, TX, in 1981. Played for Bellaire High School as "Allen Gordon".

• Played college basketball at Towson University & Texas State University as "Lazer Gordon".
• Signed a multi-year deal with Maccabi Tel-Aviv in 1988
• In Israel, people know him as Lay Z Gordon (Lazy).
• Played 10 years pro ball in the elite 1st league and the Israeli national team.
